Mark is a 1984 graduate of Texas A&M University/College Station with a degree in Construction Science. He has been involved in the construction industry his whole life. In 1985, while attending graduate school, Mark and a partner started a small general contracting firm named Design Construct that specialized in interior finish out work to help pay tuition. In the late 1980’s they started a second company named Acoustics Unlimited that specialized in drywall and acoustics work. Eventually in 1995, Mark bought out his partner and consolidated both companies under the current company name, MK Marlow Company, LTD., LLP. Mark was on the board of the Texas Mid-coast Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors for 10 years and President of the chapter in 1995. He also served as a national board member of the Associated Builders and Contractors and is a past executive board member of the Contractors Safety Council.
Todd Thomas, Vice President & COO
Todd is an Owner and Chief Operation Officer of the MK Marlow Company. Todd has over 25 years of valuable experience in large commercial projects involving interior and exterior metal stud framing, drywall, stucco, EIFS, and acoustical systems. His extensive and varied experience includes construction of hotels, theme park projects, hospitals, offices, educational buildings, retail centers, and public buildings. He started his career in the fields as a Laborer and then advanced to Apprentice, Journeyman, and finally Foreman. He was brought into the office and functioned as a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Director of Operations, and eventually Chief Operating Officer. Todd is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of the MK Marlow Company.
David Schultze, Controller
David is a graduate of Texas Lutheran University with degrees in Business Administration and Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has over 15 years’ experience in Accounting, including 8 years in Public Accounting and additional experience in various Accounting roles within the Construction industry. David is responsible for managing Finance, Accounting, and Human Resources at MK Marlow Company.
Ron Crawford, Divisions Manager - Houston
Ron has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial metal framing and drywall industry. Ron is responsible for the oversight of the MK Marlow Houston Branch office. Ron earned his Bachelors from Arizona State University and his Masters from Clemson University.
Jay Postel, Sr. Project Manager
Jay has 19 years of varied experience in both general construction and specialty wall & ceiling construction. His extensive commercial experience involves the construction of buildings ranging up to $13 million dollar which include: office buildings, retail centers, healthcare facilities, educational complexes, hotels, and public buildings. Jay began his construction career in the field and quickly advanced up the ladder. He has functioned as Estimator, Project Manager, and Sr. Project Manager for some of the premier specialty drywall contractors in America.
Bill Basinger, Sr. Project Manager
Bill has more than 30 years’ experience in the commercial drywall construction industry. Bill started his career working out in the field as a labor and worked his way up. He went from a Foreman, to Superintendent, and then became a Project Manager. He has been Project Managing and Estimating since 2001.
Chris Montez, Project Manager
Chris is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Finance. He has 16 years of diverse construction experience. His extensive and varied experience includes residential home building, commercial metal stud framing, insulation, gypsum board, acoustical ceilings & wall panels, as well as plaster and E.I.F.S. Chris has served as a Superintendent, Estimator, and Project Manager.
Chris Kempton, Project Manager
Chris is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, with a BFA in English Literature and Language as well as an MBA in Project Management. Chris has more than 15 years of varied experience in the construction industry, from working in the field as a foreman and superintendent, and then transitioning into the office as a Project Manager. His experience is well rounded by time spent in the General Contractor role, working with multiple trades on various projects in a leadership position. Prior to this, he proudly served as an Airborne Infantryman in the United States Army.
Rick Lair, Corporate Safety Director
Rick has more than 35 years’ experience in the commercial drywall business. Rick is our Safety Director and responsible for all aspects of MK Marlow’s Safety and Loss Prevention Programs. Rick has an extensive amount of Safety Training to include the OSHA 500 and OSHA 501 courses and he personally trains all of our field staff in CPR AED First Aid, Forklift Training, Scaffold Training, Fall Protection as well as Scissor and Boom Lift Training. Rick is also an Advanced Certified Firefighter and volunteers some of his personal time to his community. Rick is a great asset to us as well as our clients.
Tony Thomas, General Field Superintendent
Tony has more than 32 years’ experience in commercial drywall construction. Tony spent many years with one of the nation’s largest drywall contractors in Central Florida which lead to his extensive experience in every type of large commercial buildings. This includes, but not limited to single story office buildings, high rise hotels, and even theme park work at Disney and Universal Studios. Tony, as General Field Superintendent, is responsible for all the oversite of MK Marlow’s day to day field operations.
Don Hopkinson, Chief Estimator
Don has over 30 years’ experience in drywall and acoustical ceiling construction. He has spent the last 19 years fully devoted to the estimation of commercial drywall projects, including healthcare, office buildings, high-rise condominiums, and public buildings. Don has a proven track record in accurate and profitable construction cost estimates and has extensive training in the use of Quick Bid and On Screen Takeoff.
Ken Wilson, Estimator
Ken has over 15 years of commercial construction, drywall estimating and project management experience. Ken has extensive knowledge in drywall estimating and budgeting from high rise commercial projects to healthcare, schools, churches, etc. Ken has a great “can do” attitude and is a big part of our estimating team here at the MK Marlow Company.
Suzanne Tanner, Payroll/Accounts Payable Clerk
Suzanne attended Victoria College and has 30 plus years in business and accounting experience. She has functioned as an Office Manager, who is responsible for all accounting and office systems. Suzanne has served the MK Marlow Company for over 15 years in various capacities.
April Richards, Accounts Payable/Payroll
April attended Strayer University and has 20 years of experience in various administrative roles. Her last 9 years have been focused on the financial accounting of various large infrastructure projects. She has recently come into the role of Accounts Payable/ Payroll here at MK Marlow.
Jilese Martinez, Receptionist/Admin
Jilese is a graduate of University of Phoenix with a degree in Accounting, and has 10 years of finance and administrative experience. She recently joined the MK Marlow team as the receptionist/administrative assistant.
